Welding filters and protective lenses
Welding filters are used to protect the eyes from ultraviolet and infrared radiation generated during the welding process. Depending on the welding technique and the welder’s preference, filters with different protection levels in the shade range of 3-14 are used.
Quality and safety
Each filter is marked with the manufacturer’s logo, protection level, CE mark, and DIN CERTO number.
For safety reasons and proper visibility, these protective filters should always be used with clear protective lenses on both sides.
Protective lenses
Most welding shields are equipped with protective lenses. Their purpose is to protect the eyes and filters from hot sparks and solid particles. Depending on their intended use, these lenses are made of either glass or polycarbonate. During welding, they need to be replaced frequently when they become damaged or cloudy.
Welding filters are manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 166 and DIN EN 169 standards and the European Union Directive 89/686/EEC.
