Flat Fireplace Glass – Schott Robax and Neoceram
Fireplace glass is characterized by a very low thermal expansion coefficient.
Its fine surface texture is typical of the glass rolling process.
During production, slight irregularities (e.g., gas inclusions) may occur.
These are subject to strict quality control and do not negatively affect the product’s function or usability.
Thanks to exceptionally low thermal expansion, Schott Robax and Neoceram are highly resistant to significant temperature fluctuations (temperature changes and differences on the glass surface and inside the pane).
Processing
Fireplace glass can be mechanically processed using all standard glass processing methods (e.g., drilling).
It is particularly suitable for residential heating appliances (stoves and fireplaces).
Resistance
The surface of fireplace glass used in stoves is highly resistant to mechanical damage.
However, under critical operating conditions (e.g., high sulfur content in fuel), the glass may become cloudy.
Before starting use, practical tests should be conducted.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Since surface changes can result from improper cleaning, only cleaners specifically designed for fireplace glass should be used.
The manufacturer’s cleaning and maintenance instructions must be followed.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or aggressive chemicals!
